I help high-achieving professionals navigate the pressures of leadership, career transitions, and personal growth, without losing themselves along the way.

I'M AJASHA

Hi, I’m Dr. Ajasha Long, a licensed psychologist, speaker, and storyteller.

MY JOURNEY HAS ALWAYS REVOLVED AROUND HIGH-STRESS SPACES.

I know what it feels like to hold responsibility, to meet expectations, and to keep going when the weight feels heavy. Over the years, I’ve seen professionals thrive in their roles, but I’ve also seen the silent toll that anxiety, trauma, and burnout can take.

THAT’S WHY I BUILT

"Set Apart"

Psychological Resource and Consultation - a practice dedicated to supporting those who are used to being “the strong ones.”

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and EMDR, giving clients the tools to process what they’ve been through, steady themselves, and build lasting resilience. In every session, workshop, or speaking engagement, my goal is to make space for people to rediscover balance and strength.

A LOOK BACK:

Becoming who I am today

didn’t happen overnight. Here’s a glimpse into the journey that

shaped me

1993 - 2025

1993

Beginnings

Born to parents who were actively using substances. At three months old, adopted by another family in St. Louis, Missouri, as the biological parents could not provide care.

Early Struggles with Identity

1996–2007.jpg

Entered a period of struggle with identity, self-love, and validation.

Believed that being unwanted by biological parents meant having to “prove” worth.

Birth of the “tiny perfectionist”: learned that achievement, good grades, and success brought affirmation and temporary feelings of value.

Became valedictorian of the middle school class.

Success was tied not only to intelligence but also to perfectionism and the deep need for external validation.

2007

Middle School Valedictorian

Graduated as valedictorian of high school.

Still carried perfectionism and struggles with identity at a deeper level.

Decided to study psychology to understand experiences and inner conflicts, sensing there was “more” beyond limiting beliefs.

High School Valedictorian

2011

Began deeper personal work, questioning patterns and behaviors.

Explored why relationships, especially romantic ones, were failing while work was thriving.

Work success fueled by striving, but often from a place of unresolved wounds rather than healthy motivation.

2012–2019

Self-Discovery and Inner Work

Experienced extreme performance pressure at work.

2021–2022: Needed to take leave due to chronic migraines, partially caused by workplace stress but also by recurring internal patterns.

Realized old beliefs and perfectionistic tendencies were still driving behaviors, even after years of growth and reflection.

Leaving the comfort

png sticker dark pink.png

Leaving the comfort of my job in Ohio, a team I loved, and the place where I had built so much of my life…

…to move across the country to Arizona for something I couldn’t yet fully see.

I chose to live by design, not by default.
I bet on myself, and I haven’t looked back.
